  • We have 3 safety rule changes headed to the BOD for approval 2 concerning helmets and one for restrained drivers. Once approved I will post them here. I want to thank the safety committee for helping get me up to speed as your new chair person. We will be working throughout the year to close some loop holes and review standards.
Drivers we will be putting out a safety article each month in the Propeller. February will feature helmet information. Please send suggestions for articles you would like to see in the future.

  • Kristi,

What are the proposed changes for the helmets??  I know they have not been approved yet but what is on the table?  I am looking into new helmets now for this race season and would like to have an idea of what may be coming.

  • Making that lime-florescent green/yellow as a legal color and outlawing DOT only helmets( if it is Snell and DOT it will be legal) starting the 2013 season.

This passed at the BOD meeting last night.  They are officially legal on April 1.

Is this requirement mandated for racing year 2012  or 2013 as initially described in Kristi's reply above?  Is there posibly a typo in the E-mail that went out last night?  It would be nice to have a little notice and time to budget this expence and pick a helmet thats suitible for each of our needs.
