Remaining Mod classes to run Nationals in Dayton, Ohio.
  • In Whitney Point, NY., over six feet of water forced a cancellation of the remaining Stock, Mod and Junior Nationals.

Over the past week, the Modified Outboard Racing Commission has met to discuss what to do about the remaining classes that have yet to run. The MORC has voted to reschedule the Mod Nationals for:

    - 200cc Mod Hydro
    - 200cc Mod Runabout
    - 250cc Mod Runabout
    - 350cc Mod Runabout
    - 500cc Mod Hydro

These races will be held in at the Great American Outboard Race in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, August 24th . Entries will be $60 per boat. If drivers qualified at Whitney Point, then they will automatically be qualified at Dayton. However if there is not a full field of boats, the field will be filled by drivers at the race site.

**Note** The Modified Outboard rule prohibiting other events from running these class on the same date as the Nationals has been waived.

  • Darren:  Are there any Region 10 drivers who are not going to the Region 10 race because they are now going to Dayton to run for a Mod title?  Or, rather, is this just an opportunity for you to complain about something that really isn't an issue?

  • I wonder if the BOD even considered that Reg10 also has their LARGEST MOD race of the year also this coming weekend that conflicts with the Dayton race............are we supposed to screw over a big local race also..............a pure injustice by the BOD..

  • Please keep in mind, if you are pre-qualified for MOD Nationals, you still need to register for Dayton!

  • FYI - I strongly urge anyone that will be in the pits on Friday to register then. The sooner we get registration done, the better! Thank you!

  • Darren:  I am the one who urged the Stock Outboard Chairman to NOT hold a meeting of the SORC until all members of the SORC could be notified of the meeting and participate.  As you know, the SORC meeting was not held until Sunday evening and it was done via telephone.  Nearly all SO commissioners attended the meeting.

I had no role whatsoever in calling the MORC meeting to order while still in NY.  But I did attend it.
